Personal Profile:

You can visit my website at www.lpbsurgery.com

I am a specialist, high volume, Liver, Pancreas and Biliary surgeon. I am board certified in surgery in Australia after which I continued with further training in the USA in liver, pancreas and foregut surgery and minimally invasive laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery. I have a particular interest in the treatment of advanced liver, biliary and pancreatic cancer, including the treatment of borderline resectable cancers. I also have an interest in re-operative liver and pancreatic surgery and strongly feel that no patient should be denied the possibility of surgical cure, no matter how difficult the case may be.

A significant component of my practice is re-assessment of complex and advanced cancers considered by others not to be suitable for standard surgery. I have specialised training in advanced laparoscopic pancreas and liver surgery and am one of the few surgeons in Australia who can perform laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (Laparoscopic Whipple's Procedure).

I am also experienced in other advanced minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic hernia), and Endoscopic Retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). I also offer single incision and needlescopic gallbladder surgery.

I am the founding member of a charity established in 2011, Pancare Foundation (Pancreas, Liver, Biliary and Foregut Cancer Awareness Research and Education Foundation). I also have strong research interests related to pancreatic cancer and hold an appointment as Senior lecturer in the University of Melbourne and supervise PhD and Honours students.
